EMIL FRIIS (PIAS/Dan)
Country / Folk / Rock. L’identité d’Emil Friis se révéle à travers sa facilité à trouver l’émotion dans la simplicité et la justesse. Plutôt cowboy-hillbilly que néo-baba, Emil Friis délivre une musique authentique loin du néo-folk branleur à la joie communicative. Rythmiques bloquées et arrangements épurées laissent place à une voix ne tenant qu’à un fil chantant l’amour perdu et l’espoir de meilleurs lendemains. On évitera d’aller chercher influences hâtives et comparaisons hasardeuses, même si l’on s’autorise une humble pensée pour Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan et Will Oldham. Son premier album « Mutineer », enregistré et mixé par Lionel Darenne (ex-assistant de Steve Albini au fameux EAR studio de Chicago) révèlent un être touchant et accessible au désir évident de plaire.

DAS WANDERLUST (Wrong Pop/Uk)
Pop. Das Wanderlust enjoy confounding others’ expectations, and have been tirelessly contradicting themselves since their first live performance nearly four years ago. They abhor artistic dishonesty, and constantly worry that they fail to live up to their own high standards of integrity and lack of pretence. They find posey indie rock bands very funny. All of which is to say nothing of the music, which they themselves find it hard to classify beyond the deliberately vague self-applied term ‘wrong pop’. Critics seem similarly unable to agree on what they are, veering in opinion between structureless avant-garde experimentalism and super-melodic noise pop. The band, naturally, disagree with both schools of thought…
Das Wanderlust follow in the frolicsome tradition of post-riot grrrl popsters Bearsuit and Bis. Their weirdo witticisms have resulted in shed-loads of hype and tours with similarly minded comrades like Art Brut…NME.

THE PEPYS (Uk)
Pop / Post-punk. With a large and constantly growing fan base on the London gig circuit, The Pepys are creating a buzz on the scene with their exciting and different live set. The swapping of instruments and vocal melodies throughout the set reflect the broad influences that each band member brings to the song-writing, leading to an unpredictable, yet recognisable and unique sound. The band recently released a limited edition debut single, a double a-side Births, Deaths and Marriages and Routemasters, through up and coming independent label Eat With Your Eyes. The single launch party at The New Cross Inn sold out, followed shortly by a complete sell out of the single. Births, Deaths and Marriages was also selected as part of the soundtrack to the recent BBC documentary ‘The Tower’, about life on Pepys Estate.

JUKEBOX CLUB (Fr)
Indie / Electronique / Rock. Jukebox Club c’est l’insouciance des 80’s et la volonté absolue de s’amuser en distillant un mélange de hard rock FM et de pop rock suédoise. Ce jeune groupe parisien est mené au chant par deux jolies brunettes (Laura et Faustine) qui aiment en découdre sur scène et sauter sur fond de synthés kitsch et efficaces. Leurs influences vont ainsi de Blondie à CSS en passant par New Order et Lady Hawke. Jukebox Club aime l’électricité du live et a joué dans de nombreux clubs et salles parisiennes : Le Showcase, La Flèche d’Or, Le Gibus, La Maroquinerie, Le Nouveau Casino, le Madam…
