On August 29th 2019, Memento Takes Over the legendary Rex club in
Paris, way more than an institution for electronic music. At the
controls, the label honcho Idriss D will be accompanied by Bill
Patrick and by Marieu of The Analogue Cops.
This season, the Memento Takes Over party series is a Tribute to
Women, with the artwork dedicated to strongest female figures who have
been crucial for our society.
This one is decimated to Marie Curie, a Polish naturalized French
physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on
radioactivity. She was the first woman to win a Nobel prize and the
first person and only woman to win the Nobel prize twice, in two
different scientific fields. Her studies on radioactivity and her
radiological work at field hospital during the First World War, costed
her her life.
We would appreciate if this could encourage you to dig more deeper
into Marie’s history and life and to reflect on the essential role on
women in our society and on how hard it is for women to gain the
respect and the equality they deserve. We are not doing this for a
trend or an hype, but because this is what we have been thinking since
our childhood, marked by the prominence of our maternal love and
